Cheyenne Mountain Resort “Mountain of Hope” A Success!
The first annual Mountain of Hope Spin and Swim-a-thon, hosted by Cheyenne Mountain Resort, was a success. Participants began spinning a dawn and continued coming to the spinning classes throughout the day. Others showed their support by swimming in either the indoor pool, outdoor pool or lake, or participating in other activities on the Resort property.
For each $5 donation, a can of food was added to the mountain. Some people who could not be there on the day of the event, supported the cause by purchasing a can of food in advance to be added to the mountain.
Kids enjoyed the bounce house and carnival games while the adults took a chance at the “Wheel of Delight”, winning certificates to area restaurants, golf for four at the resort, over night stays and other services.
On Sunday, the Mountain View Restaurant cooked for the cause. Twenty percent of sales were donated to the Soup Kitchen from brunch proceeds. The two-day event earned $6,600, which will provide 2,640 meals at the Soup Kitchen.
Thank you to everyone who planned or participated in the event. We could not help the people on our community who need help the most without your support. Thank you!!
